GPT 4.1 is the model a lot of working software still runs on, and it is on this page for a reason people do not always expect: predictability. It follows instructions closely, it does not wander, and it answers the question you asked rather than an improved version of it. On this page it is free, with no account, no card and no message counter.
Newer is not automatically better for every job. Newer models reason harder, which is exactly what you want for a difficult question and exactly what you do not want when you have given precise instructions and would like them followed literally. GPT 4.1 was the release that made instruction-following its headline, and that is still the reason to open it.
Not through OpenAI. ChatGPT wants an email and a password; the API wants a verified organisation, a payment method and a key. And 4.1 is an API model rather than a picker option in ChatGPT, so for most people the practical answer has been no.

GPT 5 is the better model and the wrong one for some jobs. Give both a prompt that says "reply with only the category name" and 4.1 does that, while a reasoning model is more inclined to explain its choice. When you want thinking, open GPT 5. When you want compliance, stay here.
Both are on this site and both are fast. Nano is the newer generation and quicker still. 4.1 is the steadier one on a long, detailed instruction. Try your actual prompt on both from the bar; it takes a minute and settles the question properly.
This model does what you said. That is a gift if your instructions are precise and a trap if they are loose. Say the format, the length and the tone explicitly.
One example of a correct answer is worth three paragraphs describing one. 4.1 follows a demonstrated pattern extremely well.
With a long prompt, repeat the key constraint after the content rather than only before it. The last instruction is the one most reliably obeyed.
"If the answer is not in the text, reply 'not stated'." Without a rule for the gap, any model fills it.
The chat box at the top of this page is already on GPT 4.1.
Write the instruction precisely, including the format you want back.
Attach a file if there is one. PDF, Word, Excel and images all work.
If the shape is wrong, correct the instruction rather than the answer. It will follow the corrected one.
Your message goes over HTTPS through our server to the model. Conversations are not kept and uploaded files are removed at the end of the session. Nothing here is connected to a ChatGPT account. Do not paste passwords, keys or anything under an NDA into a chatbot.
On instructions, reliably. On facts, usually, with the ordinary caveat: it has a knowledge cutoff, it does not browse, and it will answer a question about a recent event rather than say it cannot. Dates, figures and anything that changed lately are worth checking, and for a question that needs real thought, GPT 5 or Grok 4 in the bar are the better tools.

No. It is the same maker's model, on an independent site, with no account involved.
Because it follows exact instructions more literally than a reasoning model does, which is what you want for repeatable work.
