Gemini 3 is Google's Flash tier: the model built to answer quickly and to take pictures as readily as text. It is the everyday one. Not the model you open for a research problem, but the one you open forty times a day for the small things, and on this page it costs nothing and asks for nothing. No Google account, no sign-in, no connection to the rest of your account.

The model to keep a tab open on

There is a category of question that is not hard but is annoying to answer yourself: what does this error mean, what is this form asking for, rewrite this so it is less rude, what is this chart actually showing. Gemini 3 answers those in about a second, and it can look at the thing rather than making you describe it.

Do I need a Google account?

For Google's own Gemini app, yes, and it will tie the conversation to the rest of your account. For AI Studio and the API, a project, a key and billing.

Here, none of it. You are not signed in, there is nothing to sign in to, and the model does not know who you are. This matters more than it sounds: a chatbot that does not know who you are cannot build a picture of you.

Gemini 3 or Gemini 3.1

Both are on this site and both are Flash-class. The newer 3.1 Flash-Lite tier carries the very large context window, so it is the one for putting a whole book in front of. Gemini 3 is the one to open for everything else. If you are not sure, start here and move over when something is too long.

Two fast tiers with different temperaments. Claude is the better writer and editor. Gemini is quicker and, in my experience, better at reading a messy screenshot and telling you what it says. Use Claude on prose and Gemini on pictures.

Show, do not describe

A screenshot of the error beats a retyped version of it every time, because the parts you would have left out are often the parts that matter.

Say what you want done with the image

"What is this" gets a description. "Which of these settings do I change to stop it emailing me" gets an answer. Ask the real question.

Keep it in one conversation

Follow-ups are cheap and the image stays in context. Three quick questions about one screenshot are faster than one elaborate prompt.

Move up when it struggles

If the answer is shallow, the question was probably harder than it looked. Paste it into GPT 5 or Grok 4 from the bar rather than rephrasing it three times.

Is it private?

The request goes over HTTPS through our server to the model. We do not store conversations and uploaded files are deleted when the session ends. Nothing is attached to a Google account because none is involved. Standard caution applies to screenshots in particular: check what else is on screen before you upload one.

Will it be right?

Usually, with the caveat that comes with every fast tier: it would rather answer than admit a gap. Small numbers read off an image, unusual names, dates and anything that changed recently are the things to check. Its knowledge has a cutoff and it does not browse, so for anything current, give it the text.
