Claude Sonnet 4.6 Free Chat, No Login, No Sign Up

Sonnet is the middle tier of Anthropic's line, and for most people it is the one they actually want. Haiku is quicker, Opus thinks longer, and Sonnet sits where the work is: long enough context to hold a real document, enough patience for a careful edit, and enough reasoning to be trusted with code. It is free on this page with no account and no message counter. Type in the box at the top.

Sonnet or Haiku, if you have used the other page

Both Claudes are on this site and they are genuinely different tools. Haiku answers in a beat and is the right choice for a reply, a subject line, a quick clean-up. Sonnet takes longer and uses the time: it holds a forty-page PDF in its head, it notices the contradiction on page eleven, and it will restructure an argument rather than just smoothing the sentences.

The rule of thumb that survives contact with real work: if you would have done it yourself in two minutes, use Haiku. If you were dreading it, use Sonnet.

What it is unusually good at

Can I use Claude Sonnet without an account?

Not at claude.ai, which wants an email and a verification code before the first message and applies a limit after it. The Anthropic API wants an organisation, a payment method and a key. Both are reasonable if Claude is part of your working day, and neither is what you want when you have one document to get through this evening.

Here there is nothing to join. Your message goes to the model through our server and the answer comes back to this page.

Claude Sonnet 4.6 or GPT 5

Closer than either camp likes to admit, and the difference shows in habit rather than capability. GPT 5 will attempt anything and is the stronger pure reasoner. Sonnet is the better reader: give both the same long document and ask what it says, and Sonnet is the one that answers about the document rather than about the topic. For anything where being wrong is expensive, the model that says "this is not stated here" is worth more than the model that guesses well.

Claude Sonnet 4.6 or DeepSeek V4

For writing code, DeepSeek is startlingly good and free everywhere. For reviewing code, Sonnet is the better second pair of eyes: it reads the whole file, it comments on the thing you did not ask about, and it is more likely to say the design is wrong rather than fix the symptom. Use both. They are two clicks apart in the model bar.

Getting the most out of it

Give it the whole thing

The instinct to paste an excerpt to save time is the one habit worth breaking. Sonnet holds long inputs well and the answers get noticeably better with the surrounding context. Attach the PDF rather than the paragraph.

Ask it to quote before it concludes

"Quote the lines you are basing this on, then answer." Costs a few seconds and turns a plausible answer into a checkable one.

Tell it the stakes

"This is going to a client" and "this is a note to myself" should produce different work, and here they do.

Let it disagree

"Tell me what is wrong with this plan before you improve it." Sonnet will, in a way that is useful rather than contrarian, and it is the fastest way to find the hole you already suspected.

Prompts worth stealing

How to use it

Step 1

The chat box at the top of this page is already on Claude Sonnet 4.6.

Step 2

Paste the document, the code or the question.

Step 3

Attach a file if there is one. PDF, Word, Excel and images all work.

Step 4

Follow up. Sonnet holds the thread, so the third question is usually better than the first.

Is it private?

Your message goes over HTTPS through our server to the model. We do not keep conversations and uploaded files are removed when the session ends. There is no Anthropic account involved and nothing is attached to one. As with any chatbot, do not paste credentials or anything under an NDA.

Will it be right?

More often than most, and not always. Sonnet is careful about dates, numbers and anything recent, and more willing than its competitors to say it is unsure rather than fill the gap. That habit is the single most useful thing about it, and it is not a guarantee. Where it is genuinely reliable is reading: if the answer is in the document you gave it, it will find it and tell you where. Check anything it produced from its own memory.

Questions people ask

Is Claude Sonnet 4.6 free here?

Yes. No account, no card, no usage limit that resets on a clock.

Do I need a claude.ai account?

No. This page is not connected to one and cannot see one.

How is this different from the Haiku page?

Haiku is the fast tier and answers in a beat. Sonnet takes longer and is better at long documents, code review and editing that changes the structure. Both are on this site.

Is Opus here too?

No. Haiku 4.5 and Sonnet 4.6 are the two Claude models on this site.

Can it read images?

Yes. Screenshots, photos, charts and diagrams.

Can it generate images?

No. Use Image mode on this page, or the image generators in the menu.

Can I upload a document?

Yes. PDF, Word and Excel.

Does it remember previous visits?

No. Each visit starts fresh, which is also why there is nothing to sign in to.

Is this run by Anthropic?

No. This is an independent site offering free access to the model.

Bring the document you have been avoiding. Claude Sonnet 4.6 is free at the top of this page, no account needed.
