PDF Combine Tool
AIfreeforever's PDF Combine tool helps you quickly merge multiple PDF files into a single document directly in your browser. Upload your PDFs, drag them into the order you need, and combine everything with one click. Four distinct combine modes share a single workspace: Combine All, Select Pages, Interleave, and Reverse Combine. The finished file downloads straight to your device, and your documents are never uploaded to any server.
Combine All
Merge every page from all uploaded PDFs into one document while preserving original formatting and page dimensions.
Select Pages
Pick specific pages from each PDF using page ranges, giving you full control over what goes into the combined output.
Interleave
Alternate pages from two PDFs for collating double-sided scans or weaving content from separate sources.
Reverse Combine
Merge files in reverse order so descending-named documents produce a correctly sequenced combined PDF.
How to Use Online PDF Combine
Combining PDF files should not require installing desktop software or signing up for a subscription. Upload your files by clicking the Upload button or dragging them directly onto the workspace. Each file appears as a card showing the file name, page count, and size. Drag the cards to reorder them, or use the arrow controls to shift a file up or down in the sequence. Once the order looks right, click Combine to produce a single merged PDF ready for download.
Drag and Drop to Reorder Files
The visual card layout lets you see every uploaded PDF at a glance. Grab any card and drag it to a new position to change the combine sequence. Arrow connectors between cards show the flow direction so the final output matches your expectations. For precise adjustments, the up and down arrow buttons on each card shift it one position at a time.
Select Specific Pages from Each PDF
Switch to Select Pages mode when you only need certain pages from each file. A page range input appears on every file card where you can type ranges like 1-5, 8, 12-15. Leave the field blank to include all pages from that file. This mode is ideal for assembling custom documents from multiple sources without including unnecessary content.
Interleave and Reverse Combine Modes
Beyond basic merging, the PDF Combine tool offers two specialized modes for common document assembly scenarios. Interleave alternates pages from two PDFs, which is particularly useful for reassembling double-sided scans where the front and back pages live in separate files. Reverse Combine processes your file list in the opposite order, saving time when your files are named or sorted in descending sequence.
Collate Double-Sided Scans with Interleave
Many scanners produce separate files for front and back pages when scanning double-sided documents. Upload both files, ensure the fronts file is listed first, and switch to Interleave mode. The tool takes page 1 from the first file, page 1 from the second, page 2 from the first, and so on, producing a properly ordered combined document. If one file has more pages than the other, the extra pages appear at the end.
Download Your Combined PDF
After combining, a split view shows your result statistics on the left and a full PDF preview on the right. The stats panel lists the number of files combined, total page count, and final file size. Click Download Combined PDF to save the result directly to your device. Your combined PDF downloads without any watermarks and opens cleanly in Adobe Acrobat, Preview, Chrome, or any other PDF viewer.
Free PDF Combine with Complete Privacy
Your PDF documents often contain sensitive business, legal, or personal information. This tool processes everything directly inside your browser tab using JavaScript and the pdf-lib library. Files load into browser memory, combining happens locally, and the finished document saves straight to your device. Your files never leave your device, no data is stored on servers, and there's no account signup required. You'll find no usage limits, subscription tiers, or file size restrictions.
Client-Side Processing for Document Security
Because all PDF combine processing happens inside your browser, your documents are never transmitted across the network. Confidential contracts, financial reports, medical records, and other sensitive documents can all be combined with full confidence that your file contents stay completely private. The combined PDF you download is assembled entirely on your own hardware.
