We take the 100 most populous incorporated cities in the 50 states and Washington, DC, using the Census Bureau's July 1, 2025 estimates.

Growth is the change from each city's April 2020 census base to July 2025, shown as a percentage and as the number of people added or lost. Smaller towns are left out because a few hundred new residents can produce very large percentages.

How often this page is updated

City population estimates are released once a year, usually in May. We rebuild this ranking when they come out and check the page monthly in between.
